The Cadillac Cowboys

The Cadillac Cowboys - Ken Carlyle, T.J Weger, Eric "Flycatcher" Carlson, Michael Hoag, and Joe Martin -  provide an infectious mix of original and classic songs deeply rooted in the style they like to call Gulf Coast Gumbo, a mixture of Americana, Country, Western Swing, Bluegrass and Zydeco.   Somewhere near the intersection of "Bon Ton Rouler" and the Clinch Mountain Back Step, you will find the Cowboys serving up their musical gumbo.  Their unique sound incorporates blazing fiddle, mournful steel guitar and rollicking accordion served alongside hot guitar licks and a kicking rhythm section.  Take in the excitement of one of their live shows and enjoy a feast for the ears.

These guys have been making music and playing in bands most of their lives, but this lineup did not materialize as The Cadillac Cowboys until 2017.  Years ago Kenny  fronted "Kenny Carlyle and the Cadillac Cowboys" in the Springfield, Illinois area playing college campuses, casinos and clubs throughout the region.  After relocating to Florida,  Kenny seemed ready to give up the hustle and bustle of the band scene and settle into Dunedin's laid-back lifestyle with a few solo gigs. Meanwhile, T.J. and Joe were playing with another local band, but looking for a creative outlet for some of their own original music.  And Flycatcher had been performing solo and duo acts in the area for some time, getting the attention of music savvy locals.  When T.J. and Kenny played a duo together, the chemistry was unmistakable and it wasn't long before these two were talking about making original music together, inviting Michael, Flycatcher and Joe into the mix and The Cadillac Cowboys were born.

The depth of talent in the band gives songwriters Ken, T.. J. and Flycatcher a perfect creative outlet for their original lyrics and music. Performing locally throughout the Tampa Bay area, you can catch the band at venues including Skipper's Smokehouse, The Hideaway, The Independent,   Crooked Thumb,  Peggy's Corral and various local festivals and events.  You might also be lucky enough to catch them at Ruth Eckerd Hall where they frequently provide pre-show entertainment on The Landing for national acts, most recently appearing at the Vince Gill concert.
